This was definitely NOT the way we planned on celebrating Mom on Mother's Day (in a pandemic when the weather takes a turn and it starts to snow) she is always there for so let's take a moment to celebrate her bigger and better then ever!
1. Forget the breakfast in bed- Let her sleep late! Don’t wake her for breakfast IN bed, wait till she comes down for breakfast and somehow know when she will awake, to have a healthy well balanced breakfast ready for her to start her day! A fresh bouquet of flowers (yes, florists are open) and a note on her plate describing to her how much you love her! I love these fabulously creative printable templates from Darcy Miller Designs. From Tiara Crowns to beautiful cards and Mother’s Day Award Ribbons, she has created fun filled designs that are easily printable and can be cut our and colored in! Mom will love this!
2.CLEAN UP YOUR MESSY HOUSE-being in quarantine has certainly turned your home upside down. Surprise mom and (without arguing with your sibling) and clean the house (as she would) top to bottom. Do the laundry. Whites with whites and darks together PLEASE! Don’t leave in dryer, fold AND put away too!!!!
Mom’s don’t care HOW it’s done like Nike says… just do it!
3.Get her buzzed in an Inflatable Pool- in the living room-warm water in a blow up pool during a Quarantine sounds like fun! Add some fragrance to the pool or some rose petals! Set her up with a pile of magazines and refillable Bees Knees (recipe below):
Bees Knees (Get Buzzed!)
8 oz gin
4 oz lemon juice
4 oz honey simple syrup
fancy lemon peel for garnish
honey simple syrup:
1/2 cup honey
1/2 water
In a small saucepan over medium heat the honey and 1/2 cup of water until incorporate and dissolved. Cool to room temp.
4. Let her pick her movie-Her choice, no arguments and have lots of chocolate and popcorn all ready! When its over, tell her it’s the best movie you have ever seen. (hint: When Harry Met Sally is the BEST MOVIE EVER)!
5. Create A “MOMTAGE” video or video story to celebrate Mom! My beautiful daughter created this in less than 5 minutes from videos she has taken of me being ridiculous throughout 2020! Add in memorable moments and events-you can use iMovie or this easy to use app Mojo App. Believe me there is nothing better than mom seeing on every social media outlet how much you love her (even if you make fun of her.)
