The first thing I thought of when I met Clara ,with her bubbly energy and full scope of passions at age 8, was to showcase her in a “80’s Sticker” “Ban-Do-Like” way! First there was her funny dog who tried to leave with me on my first visit, then there was her love for the arts (just like me)-from music and theatre to singing and dancing. I just loved this little girl and learning about how she played with baby dolls and danced ballet and on the weekends you could see her playing on an all boys baseball team!! So awesome! What to do for a little girl who is so loved by her family and friends all just itching to celebrate her? Let’s give her the party of her life! I certainly think we nailed it. I decided to create “Food Stations” for this “City Girl” where places like Boston’s Back Bay included inflatable swans filled with veggies and dip and Chinatown, yummy Chinese food in takeout containers. We had special converse made for her to wear to her party filled with the icon “stickers” that we custom designed especially for this beautiful young girl. She took her pre-event photos in front of Boston’s beloved theatre awnings and Boston Public Garden and when she arrived, she did so in style….on rainbow roller-skates while guests cheered her on with colorful cheering pom poms! You see, Clara had dealt with too many hardships and this event was to put her past aside and live in the moment. We reminded guests “Life is a Box of chocolate….” and all swayed to the tune “Count On Me” and in the end there was one very happy girl filled with cherished memories of this unforgettable day!
